How to request a quote from Greentree Buying an entry can be a significant investment and full of decisions to be made. Not only is security a concern but also esthetics. Eliminating as many variables as possible right from the start will save time and result in a accurate quote. Start by downloading our quote request form(s) or use our online quote request form. Determine how much room you have for your new entry 1) If you’re replacing a single door, measure the width and height of your current door (minus frame and door bottom/sweep) 2) If you’re replacing a door with sidelite(s) and possibly a transom, have your opening measured by removing the interior trim around the entry to expose the frame and studs. Measure the opening from stud to stud and from header to finished floor. If you plan to have a contractor install the unit then you should have them measure the opening for you. A good fit is essential. 3) If you are building a new home, ask your contractor what size they have specified for your entry. Define your entry 1) Choose the configuration, ie . . . single door, door & 2 sidleites, double door, etc . . . see elements of an entry system 2) Choose door material, ie . . . wood, fiberglass (smooth or grained), steel 3) Choose the door/sidelite model. Therma Tru has an online configurator that allows you to browse models visually and gives you the model numbers. 4) Choose bore/handing/swing. Most entries use double bore to accommodate deadbolts. Handing is determined by viewing the entry from outside and indicating which side of the door the hinges are located ( right side = right hand). Swing is either inswing (door swings inward when opening) or outswing (door swings outward when opening). 5) Choose the frame thickness. This corresponds to your home’s frame construction, ie . . . 2x4 or 2x6. 6) Choose frame material, ie . . . primed wood, composite (smooth or grained), wood (mahogany, oak, knotty alder). Or you could let us choose the best one for the type of door/entry you’ve chosen. Select the finishes 1) Choose the hinge color, ie . . . brushed nickel, oil rubbed bronze, brass 2) Choose threshold (the part of the frame you step over) color, ie . . . bronze, brass 3) Choose stain or paint color.
